What Does the Death Tarot Card Have to Do With AI? A Lot....
And it is a new reality we all have to face whether we like it or not.
The Death tarot card perfectly represents the emergence of AI and is one of the most misunderstood cards.
It is often associated with change, endings, and transformation, as with Scorpio.
Although this card rarely means someone will pass away, people fear it for understandable reasons.
If you look at the one from the Rider-Waite-Smith deck, the card's appearance, you see the Messenger of Death or the Grim Reaper, a skeleton wearing black armor riding a white horse.
The point of the skeleton's armor is that even though you may be invincible, death is an inevitable part of life, and you cannot avoid it.
Black is the color of mourning and mystery, whereas the white horse represents purity, power, and strength.
Look at the flag on the card, as it has a white rose with five petals, representing purification, beauty, and immortality.
There are five petals because five represents change, and death does not only mean your life is ending.
Death can also mean the end of certain phases in your life so that new beginnings can come.
Therefore, seeing the Death card come up in a reading can signify that something new is coming and change is on the horizon. But the difference is usually life-altering.
When you think about it, the Death card applies to first-time mothers. The women who never had kids and have their first ones are now moms, which is a death of who they used to be.
I remember hearing a story. Whether it was true or not, I don't know.
I am trying to remember if I listened to this story when I learned the tarot or if someone told it before I got into it.
This 13-year-old girl was walking on the sidewalk, and she suddenly found the Death card on it.
She picked it up and understandably freaked out because of what the card represented.
Of course, she thought that she was going to pass away! But she found something interesting when she got home and went to the bathroom.
Her period came on for the first time. Every girl experiences a significant transformation, which the Death tarot card represents.
Either way, Death means effective and transformative changes. The change can be positive but may also mean difficult times are ahead.
But here is the thing. Even if it means the latter, those hard times ahead will not last, as nothing does.
However, the focus today is not on that girl. It is about the emergence of AI and how Death represents what is happening with that.
How the Death Card Represents the Emergence of AI
Regarding the emergence of AI, the Death card can symbolize the transformation and change that AI brings to various aspects of your life.
AI technology can potentially revolutionize the healthcare, transportation, and communication industries.
It can significantly change how you work, interact, and solve problems. Just like the Death card signifies the end of one phase and the beginning of another, the emergence of AI marks a shift in how you approach tasks and challenges.
Additionally, the Death card often represents the idea of shedding old beliefs and embracing new perspectives.
With the advent of AI, you may need to let go of certain preconceived notions about intelligence, consciousness, and what it means to be human.
AI challenges us to redefine our understanding of these concepts and explore new possibilities.
The impact of AI on society can be both beneficial and challenging. It's up to you to navigate this transformation and ensure that AI is used ethically and responsibly.
Many people understandably fear that AI will replace their jobs.
Unfortunately, the Death tarot card can represent that as well, which is the ending of many jobs, but more jobs will need to be transformed because you will be more efficient with them by using AI.
The following jobs that are at risk of being lost due to AI are:
Telemarketing
Data entry
Factory worker
Cashier
Drivers (eventually)
Travel Agent
Bank Teller
Therefore, if you are in any of those jobs, starting learning new skills is a good idea as you want to ensure you are secure if your job becomes obsolete so you can fall into something else.
Now, I will list jobs that will not disappear due to AI but will transform as they will run with AI. They are:
Accountant
Customer Support
Paralegal
Market Research Analyst
Librarian
Radiologist
Journalists and writers (good news, if you are a writer, you will be fine as long as you accurately utilize AI)
Retail Sales
Stock Trader
HR Admin
Translator
Mortgage Underwriter
And what about tarot readers? AI can never replace human psychic abilities and intuition, so there is nothing to worry about.
However, a new AI platform is one that I have been having fun with as you talk to it, and it will have a conversation with you about anything you choose (within reason). Check out pi.ai. I told it to give me a general tarot reading, which I got.
And what is crazy about this reading is that I can take it based on the preparation I am doing for my tarot-writing project. It all appears good according to Pi guy lol. Now, let’s talk about what Death is related to on an esoteric level.
What Other Tarot Cards Is Death Related To?
Scorpio rules Death, and Mars rules Scorpio, and so does Pluto.
Therefore, Mars is associated with the Tower, which represents something suddenly ending to make room for something better.
The difference is that it is a sudden shock, whereas Death represents a slow transformation or ending.
Death is change, and the Tower is demolition. Judgment does not necessarily represent the end of something; it represents an awakening, where you see where something has gone wrong, and now, after an ah-ha moment, you want to change something for the better.
Death and the Five, Six, and Seven of Cups also have an esoteric connection.
Five of Cups is associated with Mars in Scorpio, and that card represents disappointment and grief over a loss, and that is how you feel about a transformation, even if it is a positive one.
The Six of Cups is related to the Sun in Scorpio. I believe the connection to Death is when you reminisce about something, you know that whatever you are reminiscing about is no longer around.
Therefore, things have changed drastically, as you may reminisce how "simple" things were pre-COVID-19.
Even if the pandemic is no longer happening now, things have changed for good because of it.
Seven of Cups is related to Venus in Scorpio, representing wishful thinking or being in a fantasy, as that happens when you are uncomfortable or unable to cope with a current reality.
How this relates to Death is that whatever change is happening that you cannot avoid, your mind attempts to escape from it by clinging to wishful thinking.
There it is, and next week, I will go over Temperance and see what relates to that one.
