Only the High Priestess knows all of your secrets, the ones you are taking to your grave (or urn), and she knows about all the mysteries imaginable.
For example, she knows all of the crap you are doing in your parallel lives. If you are asking, “What the fuck is a parallel life?” Let me ask you this first.
Have you ever thought about what would have happened if you decided to go with option B instead of option A, the one you had chosen?
The High Priestess knows because you live that reality in a parallel life.
Before getting into that, let’s introduce you to the High Priestess first.
Who Is the High Priestess?
The High Priestess of the Major Arcana of the tarot is the second card of the deck.
She represents secrets, digging up secrets, mysteries, unraveling those mysteries, and your intuition. The Moon represents this card.
When she comes up, it shows that you must pick apart some mysteries and use your intuition to solve some problems. But, of course, you have to do this on your own.
Another thing that the High Priestess can indicate is that there is a time of being still and retreating so you can reflect upon any situation.
Reflect upon anything necessary, and always trust your instincts to help you.
The High Priestess encourages you to pay attention to your intuition and reminds you that something around you is not how it appears. It is playing with your mind instead.
The High Priestess is second only to the Empress in her ability to project femininity and association with virginity, wisdom, and mystery.
Many people will tell you she is merely hiding "secrets."
Still, the nature of secrets also involves withholding information that could change your life for better or worse - knowledge can be dangerous!
There are things you are so much better off not knowing because it will screw with you otherwise.
Even when one wants to share something intelligent, it is easy to accidentally reveal more than intended by being too blunt.
The High Priestess's silence is necessary for discretion because she doesn't have many conversations about social niceties, so you can say that she cuts out the middleman.
She is also very straightforward with truths, as she wants you to be authentic - whether or not one wants to hear them isn't really up to her.
This is why many high priestesses tend to spend time alone; they don't put up with patience for ignorance around themselves!
Don't get involved with things where your life is at stake if you can avoid it.
Now that you know who the High Priestess is, what does she have to do with your parallel lives?
Do You Know How Many Parallel Lives You Are Living?
What the fuck is a parallel life? Think about the life you could have been living if you decided to go down an alternate path than the one you are taking here in the physical world.
You are living that life, but not on the same dimension. The High Priestess knows all about it.
You may intuitively sense how you would have felt if you had taken the path that you decided not to take in this physical world if you stopped and imagined yourself taking it.
Either you are thinking, “Thank goodness I did not make that decision,” or on the flip side, you may be saying, “I was such an idiot for not making that decision.”
That is because however you feel in the physical world about taking the path you are taking, you are feeling and experiencing the opposite in your parallel lives.
Think about those regrets you feel. You regret doing something or not doing something in your life because, in a parallel life, you are happy that you did something (or did not do something).
Maybe the grass is greener on the other side (or shittier if you are happy you did not take a particular path). But it is hard to say with confidence because only the High Priestess knows the answer to that.
I can tell you right now I am beyond relieved that I did take a particular path because if I didn’t, it could have been a matter of life and death or entire misery.
Before I go into details, I have written an article on Medium recently called The Deinstitutionalization Movement Was a Huge Mistake, and I mean it.
Families are not equipped to handle kids with complex special needs, as I was not. This movement is the reason that there are high rates of burnout, depression, and premature deaths.
Not to mention, this movement is the reason that there is a lot more crime and homelessness, aside from the crazy cost of living.
I have a child with complex special needs, severe ADHD, and autism combined. Even with the therapies, he was floundering, and he clearly needed a therapeutic environment to thrive. Home was not it.
Over time, I became more and more depressed the more burned out I was, as I was almost catatonic.
I ballooned up to 300 lbs. It was hell. How was I supposed to nurture and support him (not to mention my other child?) in that state?
He had to leave home and move into a therapeutic setting. He did at 13, and that was in 2017. He is doing better and a lot higher functioning with 24/7 therapy now.
But I cannot help but keep thinking about how things would be if he stayed home.
Well, as depressing as this is, I saw myself at 450 lbs, surrounded by fast food, pizza boxes, and needing PSWs for me and my son.
He would have lost all of the skills he learned, including communication and toileting.
It is a depressing thought, likely happening in a parallel life since I can almost feel it. Only the High Priestess knows and sees it.
Now that is out of the way, let’s discuss the cards associated with the High Priestess on an esoteric level.
Esoteric Association of Cards Related to the High Priestess
The Moon rules the High Priestess, and therefore, there are a few tarot cards associated with the High Priestess that are relevant to the Moon.
The Moon rules Cancer, which is associated with the Chariot, as it is a card that represents determination and getting through obstacles, but more so on an emotional level.
The Chariot digs the emotional strength within to get through any obstacle, and where does that strength come from? It is hidden within, as only the High Priestess knows where it lies.
The Moon also rules five of the 36 decans, one being the Six of Pentacles, where the Moon is in Taurus, where it is exalted, as that card is all about charity, which comes from the nurturing and feminine side, as that is related to the Moon.
There is also a distant connection between the High Priestess and Four of Cups, as the Moon is its ruler in that card, as it is all about contemplation and meditation (and being stuck in the same feelings can cause overthinking and dissatisfaction).
The High Priestess also indirectly relates to the Two of Swords as the Moon represents it in Libra, where you must dig into different consciousness aspects to make a challenging decision.
Often, the way to make a difficult decision is to meditate on it so you can listen to your subconscious as your subconscious knows the best decision to make.
Also, the Nine of Wands, represented by the Moon in Sagittarius, has a similar vibe to the Chariot, as that one is indirectly related to the High Priestess.
With the Nine of Wands, you may be exhausted, but you are finishing a tough job no matter what, and what drives you to do that? Emotion!
The Seven of Swords represented by the Moon in Aquarius is indirectly linked to the High Priestess, as that card is all about deception and secrets, and the High Priestess is all about secrets.
As far as the cards ruled by Cancer, which are the Two, Three, and Four of Cups, the High Priestess shows the hidden bonds between partners (Two of Cups), friends (Three of Cups), and the mind and one's emotions (Four of Cups).
